Meet Jacqueline Scislowski of ‘Power Rangers Beast Morphers’
Jacqueline Scislowski is the latest Yellow Ranger on “Power Rangers Beast Morphers.” She chatted with Digital Journal about her acting career and being a part of the “Power Rangers” franchise.
On playing the Yellow Ranger on Power Rangers Beast Morphers, she said,
“It has been a huge honor. The experience itself, filming in New Zealand for 9 months, was the most incredible, challenging, and educational experience I have ever had. Becoming a part of such a huge franchise was also very nervewracking at first, with fans from so many different generations watching. I definitely felt I had big shoes to fill. Thankfully, we have all gotten nothing but support and love from the Ranger Nation fans, and for that, I am very grateful.”
“Being the newest Yellow Ranger has brought with it a great deal of responsibility. One of which is being looked up to as a superhero by the kids watching. I definitely don’t take that lightly and really try to always use my platforms to encourage positivity, laughter, and creativity.”
When asked if she was a fan of the franchise growing up, she said,
“Although when growing up I would watch the show on occasion with my brother, I became an even bigger fan once I began binge-watching seasons during the audition process. What I love most about being the Yellow Ranger is Zoey’s resilience. I loved that she started off as a sort of underdog, but with huge ambitions and determination. In the end, by never giving up and her courageousness, Zoey finds her way to becoming the Yellow Ranger. It was very important to me, being the only girl ranger this season, to make sure I show how Zoey can hold her own on the team as well as her creative ideas and her compassion.”
Power Rangers Beast Morphers earned a nod for “Favorite Kids Show” at the Kids’ Choice Awards.
“Oh my goodness, it was absolutely crazy. It was surreal, really still hasn’t even sunk in yet. Honestly, though, I am very proud as I think the whole cast, crew, and Hasbro are as well. It’s a bit extra special to us as this was the first Hasbro era Power Rangers, and since day one we all had such big plans and hopes in this being the best first two season. So seeing that our passion for Beast Morphers is just as much felt by the audience as well, to then get a nomination is pretty awesome.”
On being an actress in the digital age, she said,
“It is definitely a huge change, and something I think all of us are still getting used to; however, these new streaming services have opened up so many more opportunities. Each platform has almost created its own vibe, creating all of these new original (meaty) series. It’s very exciting constantly anticipating the new content they are creating, and definitely makes for some cool auditions.”
For young and aspiring actors, she said,
“Be yourself, 100 people can say the same exact line, but when you say it 150 percent like yourself and it comes from a truthful honest place, it will be unique. The more you commit to being yourself, trusting the process, and never giving up… the more your path will align. The key is to always be practicing preparing and working on bringing you’re A-game to every opportunity. Also, have fun.”
She listed the following actors as her dream collaboration choices: Jim Carrey, Margot Robbie, Meryl Streep, Steve Carell, Melissa McCarthy, Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, and Jake Johnson. On her definition of the word success, she said,
“Being able to do what you love. When you’re so beyond exhausted from working, yet there is nothing else in the world you’d rather be doing. For me that’s being on set, when I’m sick or having a bad day, the one thing I know always makes it better, is filming. In order to be on set though, requires dedication and work ethic, which means making sacrifices and also keeping myself focused on getting better at my craft every day.”
She concluded about Power Rangers Beast Morphers,
“I would like to say a huge thank you. Ranger Nation has been nothing but encouraging since day one. With season one over and season two just at the beginning, I cannot wait for you all to see what’s ahead for the Beast Morphers. I can tell you this… expect the unexpected folks.”
