Rocky and Alan were partnered together for a chemistry project in Mr. Wilton’s class. Alan, who struggled with reading due to his undiagnosed dyslexia, accidentally read the chemistry problem backward, causing the mixture in the beaker to emit a thick smoke, forcing the class to evacuate.

Billy, who had guessed what had happened from Alan’s notes and the reaction that occurred, helped Alan understand his mistake. However, Mr. Wilton still wanted Alan to improve his grades and threatened to have him suspended from the football team if he couldn’t do so.

Feeling sorry for Alan, Rocky offered to help him study, and Mr. Wilton agreed not to say anything to the coach if he could see that Alan was making a concerted effort to improve.

Despite struggling with school, Alan was a talented football player, and he remained committed to the team. However, during one game, he was hit by a spiked football, which turned him into a purple football. Rocky and Ninjor managed to reverse the spiked football’s energy wave, restoring Alan and others who were turned into footballs.

Afterward, Alan learned that he had dyslexia, which helped him understand why he struggled with reading. Fortunately, he got to stay on the football team due to his condition. While Bulk and Skull recounted their bizarre experience of being turned into footballs to Lt. Stone, Rocky and Alan found it amusing but didn’t bother to confirm their story.
