Young Dougie was always afraid of the lake, thinking that there might be monsters lurking in its depths. He avoided going near the water as much as possible and stayed on the shore while the other kids had fun in the sun.

But one day, something unexpected happened. Bulk and Skull, who were known to be mischievous troublemakers, decided to venture out into the lake on an inflatable tube. As they went further out, they started to struggle and thrash in the water. The lifeguard was distracted, tending to a girl who had hurt her arm, and no one else noticed what was happening.

Dougie was sitting on the shore, watching the commotion unfold, and he knew he had to do something. Summoning all his courage, he climbed onto an inflatable tube and paddled out towards Bulk and Skull. When he reached them, they were barely able to keep their heads above water. But Dougie didn’t hesitate. He grabbed the tube and pulled them both back to the shore, saving them from drowning.

After that day, Dougie was no longer afraid of the lake. He had conquered his fear and had become a hero in the eyes of the other kids.
