Ecto Accelerator

The Ecto Accelerator was the morphing device used by Prince Dex to transform into Masked Rider.

In 1995, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers learned of an attack against Alpha 5‘s home-world of Edenoi, where he had been built long ago by its King. The Rangers decided to intercede in the attack and made their way to the planet. When they arrived, they found themselves in the middle of the conflict, mistaken for invading forces by the planet’s people. One of the people was Dex- the hero of Edenoi known as the Masked Rider.

Confronting the Rangers, Dex was able to summon his Ecto Accelerator. This was a belt-mounted device approximately six inches in length. The device was gold in color apart from two large reflective red circles at the center. When the Ecto Accelerator appeared on his belt, Dex was able to transform by saying the phrase “Ecto phase activate!”. As the device became energised, it cast the form of his insectoid helmet on his head whilst the armor of the Masked Rider formed around his body. [MMPR3: “A Friend in Need, Part I“]

The Ecto Accelerator was used to deploy the primary weapon of the Masked Rider- his Electro Saber. Announcing the phrase “Electro Saber activate!” cause the Ecto Accelerator to project the form of the handle of the weapon from the right-side circle of the Ecto Accelerator. As the handle solidified, the Masked Rider would pull it out and away from the Ecto Accelerator revealing the glowing blade as it unsheathed from his belt. [MMPR3: “A Friend in Need, Part III“]
