Green Energy Transducer

The Green Energy Transducer was an invention of Alpha 5 used to recapture the stolen Green Ranger powers from Lord Zedd’s Stag Beetle monster.

Lord Zedd used the Stag Beetle monster to steal the remaining powers of the Green Ranger. The Stag Beetle was able to drain the Power Ranger energies from any Ranger and claim them as its own, making itself extremely powerful in the process.

Using data gathered from the first conflict with the Stag Beetle, Billy suggested that Alpha 5 construct a Green Energy Transducer device that could remove the stolen powers from Stag Beetle and return them to the Green Ranger.

Knowing that it would take time to construct, the Rangers were forced to confront the Stag Beetle when it reappeared near Angel Grove. As the Rangers returned to battle the Stag Beetle, Alpha worked on building the new device. Tommy remained in the Command Center with Alpha as he set to work.

 

Power grab

Since the Stag Beetle still possessed the Green Ranger powers, the Rangers were not able to simply destroy it as they would lose Tommy’s powers in the process. Alpha designed the device to absorb the blasts of Green Ranger energy that the Stag Beetle was using to attack the Rangers.

The Transducer was a handheld device with a sensor array mounted towards the front and bore the golden symbol of the Dragonzord on the hilt.

The Green Ranger took the completed Transducer into battle. Activating it, the device absorbed and transferred the powers back to the Green Ranger. As the power flowed back into him, his golden shield glowed with green energy. With the powers back in the right hands, the Rangers were able to finally attack and destroy the Stag Beetle. However, Tommy noted that he was now weaker than ever as the Stag Beetle had consumed so much of his powers. [MMPR2: “The Beetle Invasion“]
