Invisibility Formula

The invisibility formula was a liquid invented by Trini’s Uncle Howard that could render anything invisible.

Inventing the formula

Whilst working in his chemistry laboratory, Trini’s Uncle Howard mixed a series of green liquids together in a beaker to finish creating his invisibility formula. As he made a note on his computer, he accidently poured some of the liquid onto his cactus plant, which instantly disappeared.

Without realising his mistake, Howard was momentarily confused before deducing that his formula had worked. The formula did not appear to affect the glass container it was kept in.

Making his way to the Youth Center to meet his niece Trini, Howard set a sealed jar of formula down on Ernie’s counter. Quickly becoming distracted, Howard appeared to forget what he had done, and left with Billy. Ernie, upon discovering the strange container, picked it up and moved it away.

 

The invisible invisibility formula

Rita sent Goldar, Squatt and Baboo to Howard’s unattended lab to retrieve his invisibility formula, but returned to the moon unsuccessful. The Dark Warrior then stated that if the Putties could kidnap  Howard, then he would be able to get Howard to reveal the formula to him.

Abducting Howard to a cave, the Dark Warrior had the Putties tie him to a pile of explosives, set to detonate in one hour. The Dark Warrior demanded that Howard hand over his formula, but Howard could not remember where he left it. The Dark Warrior suspected that Howard had passed the formula to Trini for safekeeping, so sent her a bunch of black balloons, which exploded to reveal a ransom note.

Consulting Zordon in the Command Center, the teens discovered what Howard had invented. Zordon explained that Rita was somehow going to use the invisibility formula to make the Power Rangers disapear forever.

 

Saving Howard

The teens made their way to the cave, where Billy defused the bomb and freed Howard. Howard returned to the Youth Center, still unsure of where he left the jar of formula. While moving stock on the counter, Ernie inadvertently placed the jar of formula next to Howard’s drink.

Upon witnessing Bulk and Skull harassing Billy, Howard drank some of the formula and now unable to be seen, attacked Bulk and Skull. As the two terrified teenagers ran, Howard became visible again. [MMPR1: “Dark Warrior“]
