Shutdown Device

The Shutdown Device was a handheld machine created by Billy to shutdown the functions of Zordon’s Command Center.

In 1995, the Hate Master was able to cast a spell over five of the Power Rangers that caused each of them to become filled with hatred. This caused each of them to neglect their Power Rangers duties. Billy, under the influence of the spell, worked to develop a small device that was able to shut down the power to the Command Center. Due to the loss of power, contact with Zordon was lost.

With no power, Alpha 5 remarked that he was unable to operate the teleporter, meaning he and Aisha could be trapped inside the Command Center forever. Aisha convinced Alpha 5 to use himself as a power source to allow her to teleport out of the Command Center. Heading to the Youth Center, Aisha appealed to the teens sense of goodness and the Hate Master spell appeared to weaken.

Upon returning to normal, Billy confusedly handed Aisha the Shutdown Device. As she closed over an open panel on the device, power to the Command Center was restored. [MMPR3: “Stop the Hate Master, Part II“]
