Timewarp Device

The Timewarp Device was a flying machine used by Baboo that could open portals to a timewarp dimension.

In the days following Rita Repulsa’s first defeat by the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, she instructed Baboo to create a new device to help her take over the Earth. Baboo built and programmed a Timewarp Device. Perhaps influenced by the ship that carried the astronauts that opened the Space Dumpster, the Timewarp Device was built in the form of small model Space Shuttle.

Baboo and Squatt explained to Rita that the device would fly to Earth and upon landing would open a hole in time. Finster’s new monster Bones would then trap the Rangers inside the time warp, where they would be trapped forever.

The Timewarp Device was controlled by a small remote control built into a golden box, handled by Baboo. The interior of the box featured a large control stick, a set of golden buttons and a measuring gauge.

Upon reaching Earth, the Timewarp Device flew close the the ground, alarming pedestrians and motorists as it navigated the busy streets. Eventually, the device came to rest atop a small pile of gravel. Now stationary, the nosecone of the device flipped open to reveal an aperture that projected a large multicoloured time warp over the city.

With the time warp open, Bones was able to trap the Rangers inside. As the team battled Bones and his boney footsoliders, Squatt and Baboo enacted a plan to destroy the Timewarp Device, trapping the Rangers. The Timewarp Device was now located atop the branches of a tree inside the time warp, and so Squatt placed a large bomb beside it and lit its fuse.

Meanwhile, the Rangers continued to fight against Bones, until the Blue Ranger was able to capture his floating skull, passing it to the Yellow Ranger who threw it into a lava pit, destroying the monster. Determined to defeat the Rangers, Rita sent a Giant to Angel Grove who punched a hole in the time warp, reaching into it to capture the Red Ranger in its hand. Distracted, the remaining Rangers didn’t notice the bomb which exploded behind them, luckily knocking them out of the time warp through the hole made by the Giant.
