Embedded in the center of his chest, the Power Ruby is central to the Phantom Ranger’s abilities. It enables his unique power to become invisible by bending light around his body, although his visibility increases with movement. The Ruby is also integral to his survival and strength, with the Phantom Ranger becoming significantly weakened without it. The origin of the Power Ruby is believed to be the planet Eltar, adding to its mystique and significance.

Introduction and Theft

The Phantom Ranger came to Earth to assist the Turbo Rangers against the intergalactic pirate Divatox. During his stay, he provided the Rangers with the new Rescue Zords to combat General Havoc and his Metallasaurus. However, the Power Ruby became a target for the villains. General Havoc discovered the Ruby’s significance and plotted to steal it to control the Phantom Ranger’s power. Despite Phantom’s efforts, Havoc managed to trick him and capture the Ruby, significantly weakening the Phantom Ranger.

The Power Ruby’s Significance and Retrieval

Once in possession of the Power Ruby, Havoc and Divatox planned to use its power to create an unprecedented destructive force by combining it with the Turbo Megazord. The Ruby was installed into the Turbo Megazord’s power systems, enhancing its capabilities. This posed a significant threat to the Rangers and the planet.

The Rangers, understanding the urgency, embarked on a mission to retrieve the Ruby. Without it, the Phantom Ranger’s life force was fading, and he was on the brink of ceasing to exist. The Power Ruby, once retrieved from the Turbo Megazord, was returned to the Phantom Ranger by Cassie. She carefully placed it back into his chest, securing it with a quarter-turn. The Ruby glowed red, restoring the Phantom Ranger’s life and power.
