Defender Wheel

Introduction and History

The Defender Wheel was a powerful method of attack designed by Alpha 5 specifically for Zeo Ranger V Red, Tommy. This innovative weapon was housed in the hold of Zeo Zord V and could be deployed from high altitudes without sustaining damage.

The Defender Wheel operates by spinning at a precise RPM (Rotations Per Minute) to cause a massive explosion upon impact with its target. Upon a successful hit, the occupant is safely teleported away from the Defender Wheel.

Design and Functionality

The Defender Wheel is an advanced device created to counteract powerful enemies. It was designed to spin at a certain RPM to counter specific frequencies, such as those used by Puppetman. When deployed, Zeo Zord V flies overhead and drops the Defender Wheel from an opening in its underbelly.

Once landed, Tommy would enter the wheel, which begins to spin within its base unit while keeping Tommy’s compartment motionless. The wheel then launches forward, rolling towards the opponent. As it approaches, Tommy activates a control button, transforming the wheel into red energy, leading to an explosive impact. After the explosion, Tommy is teleported away as a thin red streak.

Key Features and Capabilities

• High-Altitude Deployment: The Defender Wheel can be dropped from high altitudes by Zeo Zord V without taking damage.
• Precision Spinning: Designed to spin at a specific RPM, causing massive explosions upon impact.
• Teleportation: The occupant, typically Tommy, is teleported away from the explosion after a successful hit.
• Energy Transformation: Upon activation, the Defender Wheel transforms into red energy before exploding.

Significant Battles and Deployments

Against Puppetman: Billy and Alpha developed the Defender Wheel to counter Puppetman’s frequency. When deployed, the Defender Wheel temporarily defeated Puppetman by spinning at the precise RPM needed to disrupt his frequency.

Battle with Fortissimodo: When Adam was captured by giant Fortissimodo, Tommy switched from the Zeo Zord V cockpit to the Defender Wheel. Inside Zeo Zord V’s cargo bay, the Defender Wheel’s tire descended, and Tommy entered it. The Defender Wheel dropped from Zeo Zord V and struck Fortissimodo’s leg, knocking him over. Tommy and Adam then teleported away as red and green streaks.

Encounter with Mean Screen: Alpha reconfigured the Defender Wheel to make it immune to Mean Screen’s virus. Tommy entered the Defender Wheel, started the wheel spinning by pushing a silver button, and the device successfully resisted Mean Screen’s virus. Although the Defender Wheel appeared to destroy Mean Screen, he later reappeared due to a backup copy.

Fight with Robocupid: The Rangers summoned the Zeo Zords while Robocupid was still small, and Tommy used the Defender Wheel to temporarily defeat Robocupid.

Rocky’s Use of the Defender Wheel: In a unique instance, Zeo Ranger III Blue (Rocky) used the Defender Wheel instead of Tommy. After the explosion, Rocky teleported away as a thin blue streak and destroyed Defector, albeit more clumsily than Tommy typically did.
